Day 1

Air Port pick up & Overnight stay in Negombo

Negombo is a major tourist destination in Sri Lanka. This city is an ideal and liberal place with luxury, tropical life style, for those who want quick access to and from the country’s main international airport and also to Colombo city. The 100 km long canal network running through the city is still used, and outrigger canoes and modern water-craft ply this route daily, for trade and tourist purposes. Remnants of colonization include the Dutch fort built in 1672, as well as centuries-old Portuguese and Dutch houses, Administrative buildings, Churches and the ceiling frescoes of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Negombo is also home to the country’s second-largest fish market, also locally famous as being called the “Lellama (Lel-La-Ma)”, at the north end of the town’s lagoon. There are daily fish auctions, which give tourists a chance to meet the area’s fishermen, buy fish and even organize fishing trips into the lagoon and the ocean beyond.

Day 2

Asian Elephants & The 8th wonder of the Ancient World

After breakfast check out from the hotel & leave for Island’s most visited and rich Cultural Heritage site- Sigiriya. En route visit Pinnawala Elephant orphanage which houses the abandoned or wounded elephants. Here you can watch them being fed and bathed.

In the evening, explore the eight’s wonder of the ancient world “ Sigiriya Lion Rock”.

Sigiriya is an ancient palace located in the central Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660 ft) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure —Sīhāgiri, the Lion Rock. The capital and the royal palace was abandoned after the king’s death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century.

Day 3

Explore the Medieval Capital of Sri Lanka and An adventure trip to Asian Wild Jumbos.

After breakfast, leave for the Ancient Ruins of Ceylon & UNESCO World Heritage city of “Polonnaruwa” which was the medieval Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th to 13th Century A.D. Visit the ancient ruins and explore the ancient city by bicycle.

After the Polonnaruwa, take an adventurous Private Jeep Safari tour to Minneriya National Park. Back to the hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 4

The Royal Temple Complex of Dambulla and The Holy City of the hills- “Kandy”

Breakfast at the hotel and leave for Kandy via Dambulla. En- Route visit Dambulla Golden Rock Temple.

Golden Rock is a cave temple which dates back to the 1st Century .BC. Its rock ceiling is one large sweep of colorful frescoes which depict Buddhist mythology and the tales of the Buddha’s previous births. The caves house the largest collection of Buddha statues in one place.

Kandy is the second largest city in the country after Colombo. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

Day 5

Ceylon Tea Experience, Misty Ramboda Waterfall and Little England

Breakfast at the Hotel and Leave for Nuwara Eliya. En route visit Tea Factory, & a Tea Plantation to experience the productions of the World’s finest Ceylon tea. After the tea plantation, visit the scenic Ramboda Waterfall.

Nuwara Eliya is a city, in the hill country of the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The city name meaning is “ Little England” , “city on the plain (table land)” or “city of light”. The city is the administrative capital of Nuwara Eliya District, with a picturesque landscape and temperate climate. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is considered to be the most important location for Tea production in Sri Lanka. The city is overlooked by Pidurutalagala, the tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya is also known for the temperate, cool climate, the city is known for being the coolest area in Sri Lanka.

Day 6

Hike of Horton Plains & World’s End

Arrange packet breakfast from the hotel and leave at 04.30am from your hotel in Nuwara Eliya for the beautiful trekking of Horton Plains and World’s End.

Horton Plains is a unique natural attraction in Sri Lanka. It is located in the highest plateau of the country and its known for its beautiful landscapes and rare plant and animal life. The Horton plains is one of the most important catchment areas in Sri Lanka which acts as a giant sponge which store rain water and then feed several major rivers of the country throughout the year. The vegetation mainly consists of wet grass lands and montane forest. The weather at Horton Plains is quite dynamic. Average temperature varies between 5 degrees Celsius to 27 degrees Celsius.

Day 7

Scenic Train Journey to the Little paradise country side “Ella”

Check out after breakfast at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya and you will be transferred to Nanu Oya train station for the most scenic train journey of Sri Lanka “Nanu Oya to Ella”. You will have a scenic 2 hours train ride to Ella and you will be picked up from Ella train station by our chauffer guide.

Ella is a small scenic town in Badulla District and it is approximately 200 kilometers east of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 meters above sea level. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Also a top popular tourist hub with full of beautiful sightseeing. Safari Adventure to Untamed Yala

Checkout from your hotel in Ella and transfer to Tissamaharama. Do an adventurous Jeep safari tour of Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or ‘Yala East’ for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

You will be transferred to Weligama after the breakfast.

Day 10

Sea Turtles, Picturesque Stilt Fishermen and Explore the magnificent “Galle Dutch Fort”

An ancient city which is now a modern and buzzing town today. It was the most important sea port way back in history, where the sea faring merchants arrived to trade and barter. This is also where the Portuguese first set foot in the year 1505 and built a fortress, which was later captured and fortified by the Dutch. The fortress is one of the best preserved in the island. A visit to the fortress and to watch the sunset from the rampart is an experience unforgettable. The oldest Protestant church in the country called the ‘Groote Kirk’ built by the Dutch is located inside the Fort. It is situated close to New Oriental Hotel also built by them as the Governor’s Residence in 1684.

The Tour of the Capital -Colombo

After breakfast leave for Colombo – Country’s Commercial Capital.

Visit the Special government buildings, Colonial buildings, Gangarama Buddhist Temple, Galle Face green and Colombo’s famous shopping complexes. Spend the last night of your tour in Colombo.
